Egyptian Talatat relief with Akhenaten New Kingdom. 18th Dynasty, Amarna Period 1353-1337 BC Sandstone 14 x 24.5 cm Depicting Akhenaten wearing the Red Crown of Lower Egypt offering to the Aten. He stands before a table laden with fruit, vegetables and meat, his arms upraised, a vessel balanced in the palm of his right hand. A ribbon trails from the crown which is surmounted by a long spiral element. The rays of the sun terminate in small human hands. The remains of a lightly incised hieroglyphic inscription with cartouches runs above the scene. Published: Peter A. Clayton, 'Chronicle of the Pharaohs.
